- AUDIO CLIP: Extract from
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA "RAZOR" (It was the final episode of the
Battlestar Galactica TV series on the SPACE channel Friday night but I
missed it) to the chant of "So Say We All" the battle against "bad"
Styrofoam and for "good" Tap Water rages on. Followed by my old furry
squirrel friend Foamy ranting about Styrofoam cups hitting the
landfills. Its WORLD WATER DAY Sunday March 22.
- METRIC:
"HELP I'M ALIVE" (Montreal, QC, Canada) Indie Rock ... from their new
album FANTASIES just being released. Kicks-Azz. Check it out. Another
winner from one of Montreal's finest bands.
- BOHEMIAN
GROOVE: "PAIN" (Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland) for being over
the pain of my cold-flu; all us over the pain of winter now that spring
has arrived! Time for some good PAIN as defined by "Pleasure and Intense Narcissism" oh weary
warriors of winter done with. And of course the lads hail from Ireland
and March 22 is Montreal's St. Patrick's Parade and County Tyrone is where one branch of my ancestors immigrated to Canada from Northern Ireland back in the 1820s. If it is a wee bit on the chilly side ya might ease a
bit of the pain while watching the parade with Irish anti-freeze a-la Guinness and
Irish Whiskey. Just a thought. Wear green and dress warmly ... unless you are one of those crazy frat boys.
- NICKLEBACK:
"SOMETHING IN YOUR MOUTH" (Vancouver, BC, Canada) Canadian Rock ...
Whatever keeps your tongue happy be it tongue hockey, a cafe latte, or
...? The band is Juno nominated again.
A week of post cold-flu recovery! Damn good to be off Chicken Noodle Soup, Neo Citrons and Advils! Whoop-Aye. I'm a new man. Well a recycled, reused, reduced to a shadow of my former self anyway. Pre-Owned. Pre-Loved. But Refurbished. LOL. It'll take another week to get all pistons firing on full throttle. CEAD MILE FAILTE! Enjoyed a festive St. Patrick's Parade Day in Montreal with friends doing brunch @ EGGSPECTATIONS downtown; watching the parade; pub hopping with friends old and new to pints of Guinness. The parade that unites families with strollers with party partaking Guinness tasters! With spring's arrival and a spring back in my step Saturday March 21 was doggy walking; sports fantasy pools; a morning BUDOKON class; lunch; doggy walking; wrap pre-show production at my home studio; into the radio station for program #111; a walk through Mile End post-program to bask in the sun of Fairmont, Park Avenue, St. Viateur, St. Laurent and picked Italian Calzones from an Indie store; Podcasting; doggy walking; Go Habs Go up against the Toronto Maple Leafs as I'm watching it on TV from my digs in Old Montreal. Spring officially arrived on Friday march 20. Thus, out for some cycling and an outdoor cardio kick box workout in the park. Still nibbly if sunny thus several layers just like one would for Xcountry skiing. Back to the BEACH! Whoop-Whoop-Whoop-AHH! New season of Indoor beach Volleyball hit the beach for my team the SUNS of BITCHES on Thursday March 19. 4 X 4 in the sand. Two BUDOKON workouts. Wedesday evening March 18 and Saturday morning March 21, 2009 before heading into the radio station. CEAD MILE FAILTE! Gaelic for "100,000 Welcomes." Or is that Guinness pints? Anyway did my part for pubbing on St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday March 17. Alas, two loses by 1-goal to the Rangers (shoot-out) and the Sens for the Montreal Canadiens (Habs) as our playoff position has now become tenuous. The worry warts are out big time. We'll be fighting for 7th or 8th spot just to get into the NHL playoffs it seems. But hang in there. YES WE CAN make the playoffs. Also watched a chunk of World Baseball Classic ball games from San Diego on Miami. No I wasn't there. Don't I wish. Just another TV viewer but its a baseball fix. Closer matches as its down to 4 teams heading into Los Angeles. Oh ya, and March Madness NCAA basketball kicked in on Friday night.
