This year's Valentine's Day poems from my own collection:

LOVE’S PYRE

You relished such a delight, to take me in your love so high.
Then cleave me down, looking on with Loki's smile.
You savoring with a malicious sigh.
Far away in his arms, believing me a victim of your guile.

You turning away, thinking me dead on your love's funeral pyre.
As an ancient Norse warrior, on his way to great Odin.
Relishing the flames, rising high from my body and soul on fire.

Little knowing I'd rise, refusing to join my ancient kin.
Now reincarnated, I breathe with Thor's passion.
Hear my heart, like his hammer, its roar in the din.
My magic, mere Valkerie, unveiled in its fashion.

  • Award: This poem won an award from the International Society of Poets in 2003,

  • Published: Poetry compilation from NOBLE HOUSE titled "Colours of the Heart" (2004).

Pelirroja y Morena (Red & Black)

Romeo, anguished soul, Juliet so tragically mistaken
Eve, serpentine temptation, humanities sensuality thus born
Delilah, lover’s betrayal, Samson’s strength forsaken

Bragi, rune tongued, from his mead amorous poetic rendering
Lancelot, chivalric knight, centuries ole rituals of courtship
Aphrodite, love’s goddess, our passions in her hands so meddling
Cleopatra, Nile queen, your wiles one man’s driving whip
Knave d’Artagnan, cunning Milady, laugh at the joust never ending

TRIED 2 SET ME UP
Not Yet, Not Ready, Not Interested, Silly wench U forgot 2 B Nice!
They're up for it, They're Ready, They're Interested, I forgot 2 mention the query from the good people in Vice!

Such a fine line, between reality and illusion.
No reason to cover 4 you, seemed a contrived intrusion.
Their probe the icing on the cake, figured you out in the confusion.

Thought yourself a Princess sitting on your Throne!
Reality Check Shrew, perchance soon U'll B sitting all Alone!

Playlist for Program #106:
  • The Earth Lounge Jingle by LIME: "DO YOUR TIME ON THE PLANET" with Valentine musings from the great Bard, William Shakespeare ... Intro clip from MID-SUMMER's NIGHT DREAM "Lips, those Kissing Cherries" and Extro clip from THE TAMING OF THE SHREW "My there's a Wench! Come on and Kiss Me Kate!" For who better than Shakespeare to recount the follies and frolics of lovers in angst?
  • SUE FOLEY: "LOVE DISEASE" (Canada) Indie Blues Rock ... dedicated to those inflicted with that "love Disease" ailment this St. Valentine's Day. Woe to you, unsuspecting victims of love.
  • LEE AARON: "THE WHY SONG" (Canada) Indie Jazz from the singer who you once knew as the "Metal Queen" way back and who has evolved into a jazz singer ... For all the unanswered "WHY" questions we muse upon daily. Charles Darwin answered a few of the "Why?" questions yet so many questions perplex a sole daily do they not?
  • D-LANG: "BAD-ASS CUPID" (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) Indie Hard Rock ... For all the love potion, poisoned dipped arrows Cupid hurls at yer poor ole hearts out there in radio land, for Cupid is truly one Bad Ass dude loaded for bear. LMAO.  Recall that 80s track by the group ABC titled "Poison Arrow"? That was Bad-Ass Cupid at work.
