- PYSCHOTIC 4: "CHEAP ROMANCES" (Montreal, QC, Canada) Indie Rock. January Cabin Fever can make one psychotic unless corrective measures are taken! And a little romance, be it "cheap" or "deep" works to combat both cabin fever and is an ingenious way to keep warm on those nibbkly winter nights.
- SWEDISH NICK: "KEEP IT UP" (Bondi Beach, New South Wales, Australia) Indie Rock. While we deal with the frostiest of months in our hemisphere the Aussies are basking in summer on the beaches Down Under. Oz music to keep you warm and toasty by the hearth. "Keep Up" your drive to stick with those "Healthier Me" New Year's Resolutions.
- RUBY 9: "READ ME" (Geelong, Victoria, Australia) Indie Country-Rock. For those cuddled with a book on these cold winter night.
- The Montreal International Auto Show from January 16-25, 2009 featuring "On Route to a Greener Future": http://www.salonautomontreal.com/en/special-attractions
- "2 THE CURB" ... No, not talking about "kicking your lover or mate to the curb" silly, just giving you the 411 that its time for your pre-loved Christmas Tree to hit the curb between January 4-22 depending on your borough: http://ville.montreal.qc.ca/portal/page?_pageid=66,48035&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
- Went X-Country Skiing Sunday January 11 @ Mont-Royal Park in Montreal on a sunny day. Take that "Cabin Fever." Temperature crisp but perfect for X-Country. Snow conditions ideal.
- Tried out BUDOKON the happening, new wave in workouts @ ZAZEN Spa - Studio Old Montreal on Saturday morning January 10, 2009. Yoga blended with various combat arts and meditation to build mind, body and soul. Elements of Yoga, Pilates, Brazilian Capoiera, Asian Martial Arts. Excellent for building core strength.
- Started the winter INDOOR BEACH VOLLEYBALL season on Thursday January 8 @ 365 Volleyball. Next best thing to the Caribbean! Go SUNS of BEEYOTCHES (my team) go!
- Got outdoors for X-COUNTRY KING during the snow fall on Wednesday afternoon January 7.
- Slapped on the ICE SKATES for my first sortie of the season @ the BONSECOURS RINK located at the basin just below Bonsecours Market in the Quays of the Old Port on a sunny Tuesday afternoon January 6. Ah, exercising in the fresh air!
- My current fiction read
is the sensuous novel "Double Dare" by Saskia Walker. Fighting the frigid temperature of January with a smokin' hot tale of an adventurous relationship.
- Congratulations to the Team Canada Junior's in bagging their fifth straight gold medal at the IIHF
World Juniors hosted in the nation's capital of Ottawa on Monday January 5.
- GOT PIGSKIN? Yes we do indeed! Go Baltimore Ravens Go! My #2 NFL team whomped on Miami
Sunday January 4 to move on to face the Tennessee Titans on Saturday January 10. Go Steelers Go! My #1 NFL team the Pittsburgh Steelers face the resurgent San Diego Chargers on Sunday January 11. Hoping for a Ravens and Steelers showdown in the AFC conference final. RESULTS (January 11, 2009): I've got my showdown of choice in the AFC! Steelers and Ravens will be the AFC Championship game. Oh, joj-joy, happy-happy! As the Ravens
nipped the Titans 13-10 on a 50-yard plus Matt Stover FG with less than a
minute to go in the 4th qtr. My favourite Stove-Top-Stuffer ... Matt
Stover! And the Steelers romped over the Chargers in the late game 35-24! Nize, Very Nize!
