• Making and Breaking New Year' Resolutions to start off the year 2009! LMAO.
  
• Hanging Friday night at Typhoon Lounge in NDG where many of the x-pats of the 'hood show up every year during the holidays.
• Given the extreme cold of the past week a good reading week. My fiction read is the sensuous novel "Double Dare" by Saskia Walker. Also been listening to the "Book Radio" channel on XM Radio to catch Jules Verne's "Michael Strogoff"; "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes"; and other old-time radio mystery adventures.

• Watched (on TV) the NHL Winter Classic game on New Year's Day from Wrigley Field (home of the MLB Chicago Cubs) where my Detroit Red Wings won 6-4 over the home ice Chicago Blackhawks. Excellent game. I really dig these outdoor games on the "big frozen pond."
  
• Routing for the Team Canada Junior's to bag another gold medal at the IIHF World Juniors. Caught a number of the matches over the past week. What a game Saturday January 3 as the lads of Team Canada came back to tie it 5-5 against Russia with just 5 second to go in the 3rd period then win it in the Shoot-out. On to the Gold Game!
  
• Wild Card! Go Baltimore Ravens Go! My #2 NFL team is off to balmy Miami Sunday January 4 while my #1 NFL team the Pittsburgh Steelers have a playoff by-week.
